AMG Projects, a leading contemporary art gallery in the heart of Lekki Lagos, recently presented a solo exhibition titled “What the World Needs” by rising artist Sadiq Ajibola Williams. The 3-week exhibition launched with a private viewing, which exhibited an eclectic collection of artworks ranging from paints and sculptures to multimedia installations, all centred around the artist’s continuous exploration of the Ikigai and Alafia concepts, which are known doctrines of the Yoruba culture and the Japanese. The diverse range of artworks on display inspired dialogue and introspection, encouraging attendees to ponder the actions and changes required to make the world a better place.
Jide Adesanya, founder of AMG Projects, expressed his gratitude at the private viewing, saying he believed that art has the power to inspire change and provoke meaningful conversations and that Williams’ works on display featured the opportunity for interactions. The exhibition was well attended by art collectors, art lovers, friends and family of the gallery, and the artist.
