Design Week Lagos (DWL), Africa’s premier showcase of design brilliance, wrapped up five days of exhilarating exhibitions, conversations, and creativity that captured the hearts of Lagos and the attention of global design enthusiasts. Bringing together designers, innovators, and visionaries worldwide, this year’s festival celebrated cutting-edge design and underscored its vital role in driving Nigeria’s economic transformation.
Held at the LiveSpot Entertarium, DWL kicked off on October 22 with an exclusive VIP opening featuring inspiring speeches, networking sessions, and dynamic showcases.
With renowned speakers like British artist Benedict Radcliffe and Nigeria’s Honourable Minister Hannatu Musa Musawa, attendees engaged in enlightening discussions on themes like “D” signing Economic Growth” and “F” steering Collaboration within the Built Environment.” These conversations celebrated the unique intersections of design, innovation, and community impact, further enriching Lagos’ Creative sphere.
The grand finale on October 27 was the National Design and Innovation Competition, an event that honoured the creativity, dedication, and vision of Nigeria’s brightest emerging designers. Finalists presented their innovative solutions to a panel of esteemed judges, vying for prestigious awards and opportunities to take their projects to new heights. Reflecting on this year’s resounding success, Titi Ogufere remarked, “D” sign Week Lagos 2024 has proven, once again, the transformative potential of design. We are honoured by the support of our patrons and partners and optimistic about the growth and impact of Nigeria’s sign and innovation ecosystem.”
