1. You’ve built several successful companies like Livespot360 and Soul Muzik. What has been the driving force behind your entrepreneurial journey, and how have you stayed motivated in the face of challenges?
The driving force behind my entrepreneurial journey has always been a deep desire to create impactful and transformative experiences. Whether through music, media, or design, my aim has been to redefine how stories are told and experiences are shared. Challenges are inevitable, but my motivation stems from a commitment to excellence, a strong support system, and my faith, which keeps me grounded and inspired to push through any obstacles.
2. As a Harvard Business School alumna, how did your education shape your approach to business and leadership, and how do you merge creativity with the technical and business aspects of your ventures?
Harvard Business School provided me with a global perspective on business strategy, leadership, and innovation. It taught me to approach challenges with a structured yet adaptable mindset. I merge creativity with business by fostering a culture where bold ideas are encouraged and backed by sound strategy. For instance, at Livespot360, creativity fuels our unique experiences, while robust business models ensure scalability and sustainability.
3. You’ve led Livespot360 into becoming one of Africa’s leading entertainment and media companies. What do you think sets your brand apart from others in the entertainment industry, and how do you envision its growth in the coming years?
Livespot360 stands out because of our Spot-on® Approach—a commitment to meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of our audience. Livespot is also driven by the vision of a creative powerhouse that merges innovation with authenticity. We’re constantly challenging ourselves to redefine the entertainment landscape.” Our ability to blend entertainment with innovation ensures that every project resonates on a cultural and emotional level. Over the next few years, we plan to expand globally, integrate more technology-driven solutions, and empower the next generation of creative talents through our LABSPOT Creative Skills and Enterprise Development Programme.
4. You are known for creating unforgettable experiences. Could you share one of your favorite moments from a project or event you’ve produced through Livespot360 that really resonated with you personally?
One of the most fulfilling projects has been Entertainment Week Lagos (EWL). Over the years, EWL has grown into a dynamic platform that not only celebrates African creativity but also nurtures emerging talent, fosters collaboration, innovation, and growth, paving the way for the next generation of creatives. Each edition serves as a catalyst for young visionaries to connect with industry leaders, showcase their work, and gain access to opportunities that might otherwise seem out of reach.
What resonates most with me is being able to nurture and witness the growth of talent through EWL—seeing young creatives gain the confidence to share their voices, watching their ideas flourish, and knowing that this platform has played a role in their journey. It’s deeply fulfilling to see the tangible impact EWL has had—whether it’s groundbreaking ideas taking shape, industry relationships being built, or audiences leaving inspired. This work reminds me why we do what we do: to create opportunities, tell authentic stories, and shape the future of entertainment in Africa.
5. What role do creativity and innovation play in your business ventures, and how do you ensure that these elements stay at the forefront of your work as both an entrepreneur and a creative visionary?
Creativity and innovation are at the heart of everything we do. They are more than tools—they are the driving force behind my work. With a vision to drive culture through creativity, I prioritize staying ahead of trends, encouraging collaboration within our creative collective, and investing in continuous learning. I also ensure my teams have the tools and freedom to experiment, keeping our work fresh, impactful, and constantly challenging norms while opening new doors for expression.
6. You’ve launched platforms like Entertainment Week Lagos (EWL) to celebrate creativity and innovation in the entertainment industry. What has been the most rewarding part of bringing such initiatives to life?
The most rewarding part has been witnessing the platform foster collaborations and shine a light on African talent. EWL creates opportunities for creatives to connect, share ideas, and build legacies, which aligns with my vision of Africa as a global cultural powerhouse.
7. You are a passionate advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. How do these values influence your leadership style and the culture within your companies?
These values are embedded in our DNA. As a leader, I create spaces where diverse voices are heard, ensuring that everyone—from junior staff to executives—feels valued. This inclusive culture not only drives innovation but also fosters loyalty and a shared sense of purpose.
8. As a woman in a male-dominated industry, what barriers have you faced, and how have you worked to empower and uplift other women and aspiring professionals around you?
Breaking stereotypes and earning respect in a male-dominated industry has been challenging, but I’ve learned to let my work speak for itself. I actively mentor women, create opportunities for female talents through platforms like the LABSPOT creative skills and enterprise development programme, and advocate for policies that promote equity.
9. Could you share your thoughts on how we can better support and create opportunities for women in the African entertainment and business sectors?
It starts with intentionality. Organizations need to commit to gender equity through hiring practices, mentorship programs, and access to funding. Platforms that spotlight female talents and their contributions are also essential in shifting the narrative.
10. You wear many hats—as a CEO, producer, marketer, and advocate. How do you manage to balance your personal life with such a dynamic and demanding career?
Balance is a constant work in progress. I lean on my faith, stay organized, and ensure quality time with my family. I’ve also learned the power of delegation, trusting my team to execute while I focus on the bigger picture.
11. What is the best piece of advice you’ve received on leadership, and how has it impacted your approach to managing both people and projects?
“Lead with empathy and clarity.” This advice has shaped how I build relationships and communicate expectations. It reminds me to consider the human element in every decision while staying focused on achieving results.
12. Looking back at your journey, what would you say has been the most significant lesson you’ve learned, both personally and professionally?
The most significant lesson is that resilience and adaptability are non-negotiable. Change is constant, and success comes from embracing it while staying true to your core values.
13. Africa’s entertainment industry has seen rapid growth in recent years. What role do you see your companies and the broader creative sector playing in shaping Africa’s cultural influence on a global scale?
We’re redefining African storytelling, amplifying its authenticity and vibrancy on global platforms. Livespot360, in particular, is a bridge, connecting Africa’s creativity with the world through cutting-edge productions and cultural exports.
14. What exciting projects or new initiatives are you currently working on, and how do they align with your long-term vision for the entertainment industry in Africa?
We’re currently working on Entertainment Week Lagos 2024, which is a cornerstone for innovation and collaboration in Africa. We’re also expanding our LABSPOT Creative Skills and Enterprise Development programme to empower even more creatives and businesses.
15. What does style mean to you and how will you describe your style?
Style, to me, is a form of self-expression—a way to communicate who you are without saying a word. It’s about authenticity, confidence, and being unapologetically yourself. I would describe my style as a harmonious blend of timeless elegance and bold innovation, with a nod to my African heritage. It reflects my personality: creative, dynamic, and rooted in culture.
16. If you could give one piece of advice to young women aspiring to break into the entertainment or business sectors, what would it be?
Own your narrative. Don’t let anyone define your limits or capabilities. The journey won’t always be easy, but with persistence, confidence, and a commitment to excellence, you can break barriers and create a path uniquely your own. Surround yourself with people who uplift you and never stop believing in your dreams.
