In the entertainment industry, almost everyone is required to go through a makeover. Some can be drastic, and others stick to more natural looks but all in all, this process is described as “Styling”. Like every other art specification, it takes talented minds to conceptualize the final look. And that’s where the stylists come in. This week, we will celebrate ten out of the many experienced and immerging fashion personalities who have served as stylists and image consultants in the Nigerian Fashion Industry. Without further ado, let’s get the list started…
1) Moses Ebite

Known for his bold red-carpet style, Moses Ebite of Moashy Styling styles some of Nigeria’s most significant red-carpet risk-takers. He has a penchant for turning fresh-faced actresses into full-blown red-carpet stars. With a list of well-established style stars as clients Moses is one stylist that will be on our radar for a very long time.
2) Toyin Lawani

Toyin Lawani is the founder of Tiannah Styling and a few other successful businesses placed under the umbrella of the Tiannah Empire. Popularly referred to as Mama Tiannah, she has been a significant staple in the Nigerian entertainment industry due to her presence there as a stylist. She has styled Wizkid, Stephanie Okereke, Ciara, Keri Hilson, Natalie Nunn, and others. A graduate of English Language from the University of Lagos, Toyin, unsatisfied with that, also attended Oprah Benson Beauty Institute in Nigeria, John Yin beauty school in Korea and the Carlton beauty institute in London.
3) Veronica Ebie

Veronica Ebie-Odeka is the CEO of Vanestyle, a lucrative fashion business that spans luxury lifestyle consulting, import merchandising, and product manufacturing/marketing. She is also the founder and beauty director of Vane Polish, possibly one of the first luxury nail polishes to come out of Africa. She is famed for championing the need to support made in Nigeria clothing. Veronica has styled high profile celebrities like Genevieve Nnaji and Mo Abudu and has worked closely with several designers on their lookbooks and campaigns. She is also a graduate of communication and public relations from the University of Houston in the United States.
4) Jeremiah Ogbodo

Popularly known as Jeremiah Ogbodo, Swanky Jerry is the founder of Swanky Signature. He triples as a style influencer, fashion consultant and stylist who showcases his versatility and passion for the fashion industry through his looks. He has styled A-list celebrities such as Tonto Dikeh, Juliet Ibrahim, 2face, Annie Macaulay, Toke Makinwa and Big Brother winner Mercy Eke. He is currently studying Business Administration at the University of Lagos but has a formal certification in styling from the School of Style in New York.
5) Teni Oluwo

Teni Oluwo is the Founder and Creative Director of “Style Territory”. Known for her nonconformist attitude, she’s been able to carve a niche for herself in the Nigerian fashion industry. Just like her personality, her styling concepts fall within the over-the-top mood, making her your go to girl for high fashion editorials. When she’s not catering to clients, she keeps herself occupied as a creative writer, brand strategist and style enthusiast/Influencer. Her work has also been featured twice in Vogue Italia, Manrepeller and Refinery29.
6) Mimi Linda Yina

Mimi Linda Yina is the founder of the Medlin Couture, a leading brand in styling, designing and personal g. She is known for collaborating with designers to create stand out pieces for her clients. She has worked with major celebrities in Nigeria like Funke Akindele, Tonto Dikeh and Ini Edo.
7) Tosin Ogundadegbe

Also known as The Style Infidel, Tosin is a force to reckon with in the Styling industry. He is a graduate of philosophy but has dominated the Nigerian fashion industry with his rather expressive sense of fashion, allowing him to work with big brands such as GTB Fashion Weekend, Mai Atafo, David Wej and Odio Mimonet. Tosin also dabbles in fashion consulting, creative directing and fashion writing and has created quite an enviable portfolio working with fashion designers and magazines, conceptualizing out of this world editorials and catering to lots of celebrities.
8) Rhoda Ebun

Rhoda Ebun is the CEO of Roses and Thorns fashion company in Lagos. She is one of the most influential celebrity stylists in the Nigerian fashion industry. A woman of many parts, she is a fashion consultant, brand strategist, and fashion writer. She hosts a YouTube show called “Style 411”. Her Made in Nigeria for 30days campaign, which saw her wear 30 indigenous designers in 3O days, was an inspiring and hugely successful project.
9) Kayito Nwokedi

Kaito Nwokedi is a fashion stylist, creative director and fashion writer in Lagos, Nigeria. He has worked for Mania magazine, Pride magazine and Y-Naija – creating outstanding editorials. He is hugely appreciated for his concepts in high fashion editorials and is considered one to look out for. Being a graduate of Electrical Engineering from Covenant University didn’t stop him from exploring his artistic qualities. He has worked with top celebrities like Dakore Akande, Princess Dolapo Oni-Sijuade and Adesua Etomi.
10) Adedamola Adeyemi

Dahmola is a superb fashion stylist with seasoning way beyond his years. He also doubles as a costume designer and doesn’t hesitate to step out of his comfort zone from time to time. Lately, he has been doing a great job styling the delectable Toke Makinwa each time she appears in the popular reality tv series “Real Housewives of Lagos” (RHOL). Other celebrities he’s worked with are Sharon Ooja, Bonang, Simi, Adesua Etomi and Taymesan.
